We’ve got a fun new way to promote wholesome treats for kids and dogs! It’s the Good Dog Recipe Contest. Your healthy snack could be included in our new “Dog Gone Good Kid’s Recipe Book,” featuring wholesome treats for kids and dogs. Plus, you could win a $100 shopping spree at!

Feeding your dog the proper kind of dog food and treats is an important part of being a responsible pet owner. At Good Dog in a Box, we are all about healthy and wholesome treats for our dogs (and our kids). We want to get the word out that it’s fun and easy to feed your dog yummy, healthy treats. So we decided to put out the “Dog Gone Good Kid’s Recipe Book,” featuring wholesome treats for dogs that can be made by kids.

That’s where our fabulous dog and kid loving community comes in. We want to fill our new cookbook with your awesome and delicious dog treats and snacks. So we decided to hold a recipe contest! Our rules are simple.

    • Treats must be healthy with all natural ingredients.
    • Treats need to be kid friendly – meaning a kid could make it with help from an adult
    • You must be the owner of your recipe (don’t cheat and use Martha Stewart’s…she won’t like that)
    • Recipes are treats for dogs, but if they can be enjoyed by humans too, we’re into that
    • Recipes can include fillings for dog dispensing toys

If you have recipes for dogs with allergies, we’d especially love to hear about those! If you have a story related to your recipe, please share it when you enter (we’ve got a space for that). Each contestant can enter 5 recipes. You have to be 21 years old to enter, but a parent can enter with a child.

One lucky winner will be chosen as the grand champion prize winner and will get top billing in the cookbook and a $100 shopping spree on There will be two reserve grand champion winners, and a bunch of blue ribbon winners (although we’re not quite sure how many we’re going to pick). All the winners will be identified in the cookbook with their recipe, will be listed on our blog and in our social media, and will receive one free copy of the cookbook. If you own a dog related business that promotes reward based training, have a dog or kid blog, volunteer or work in a shelter or rescue, or are otherwise associated with a cool dog related business, we’ll include the name and url of your business in the cookbook and in our online postings. (We do reserve the right to not include a business name and link if we do not agree with the content on that site…but we’d still include your recipe and your name.)

Are you ready to enter? Great! Just fill in the entry form below! And good luck!
