Good Dog Award Winner – Susie’s Senior Dogs

Promoting adoptions of older dogs in need

The Good Dog Blog will be awarding a weekly “Good Dog Award” for dogs doing good things and those doing good things for dogs. This week’s Good Dog Award goes to Susie’s Senior Dogs, a non-profit organization that advocates adopting older dogs. Through their social media, Susie’s spotlights homeless underdogs from shelters and rescues around the country that otherwise might get overlooked.

In 2014, Susie’s Senior Dogs founder Erin Stanton and her husband Brandon had fallen in love with with an 11 year old chihuahua named Susie. They wanted to give other geriatric dogs a better chance of adoption and started Susie’s Facebook page. Since then, Susie’s has accumulated over 500,000 followers that provide much needed exposure for homeless older dogs.

Erin has also written a book that highlights the countless success stories that Susie’s viral social media posts have created. You can join Susie’s Facebook page and donate to Susie’s Senior Dogs at their website.

Thank you Susie’s Senior Dogs, this week’s Good Dog Award winners, for helping more older dogs live out their golden years in loving homes!
